Wendy Otto B.Sc.P.T., C.A.F.C.I., M.C.P.A.
Wendy is the owner of Summerland Physiotherapy and Sports Care. She is originally from Sherwood Park, Alberta and she graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta in 1997. She has been working in Summerland since 2000. She completed the certification program through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute in 2003. She has a special interest in gait analysis and custom orthotic prescription using the Footmaxx System. She has also completed training in Vestibular Rehabilitation for treatment of vertigo at the Royal Columbian Hospital in Vancouver. Wendy has attained her Level III distinction in post-graduate manual therapy through the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She is currently on the medical team for the South Okanagan Flames Junior Lacrosse team and Summerland Sting Junior Hockey Team. She has worked with numerous sports teams including the Canadian Freestyle Ski Team, the South Okanagan Junior Lacrosse Team, the UBCO Volleyball Teams, and the Summerland Steam Junior Hockey Team. She is an avid runner and has completed several marathons, half-marathons, 10km and 5km races. She also enjoys kayaking, gardening, traveling and reading in her spare time.
Blake Chalmers, B.Sc., M.P.T., B.D.N., M.C.P.A
Blake is a dedicated student of lifelong learning and desires to give the most up-to-date treatments available to his patients. Blake has completed his level 2 with the Orthopaedic Division and looks forward to continuing his education in manual therapy and to eventually attain his diploma in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy. Blake has also attained his certificate in Biomedical Dry Needling. Blake strives to provide the best possible care to his patients through effective communication, gentle manual therapy, dry needling and precise exercise programs tailored for the individual.
Registered Massage Therapist
Tiffany was born in Kamloops and raised in North Vancouver. She has a daughter and two dogs. She moved to the Okanagan in 2016. Tiffany graduated from RMT 3000 hour program in Kelowna in 2018. She uses a variety of techniques including myofascial release, Swedish massage, deep tissue and is certified in Soft Tissue Release and Graston Technique. She takes great pride in helping her clients create freedom to move.
Sarah began practicing yoga in 2005 and was instantly hooked. She primarily practiced Bikram yoga for years before moving to Summerland in 2014 with her husband and 2 kids. Shortly after moving to the Okanagan, she returned to St. Albert, Alberta to take her 200-hour yoga teacher training through Vikara Yoga Academy. Sarah completed her 200-hr training in August of 2016 and has been teaching ever since! In June of 2018, she took her restorative yoga certification training through Inner Truth Yoga and in March of 2020 she became a certified TRX Suspension trainer. Sarah loves having the opportunity to share her passion for health and wellness through yoga and training programs. Along with teaching in a studio setting she has worked with local school districts to bring yoga to their curriculum and has worked with minor hockey teams as part of their dry-land training and recovery programs. When she's not teaching yoga or driving the mom taxi, she will oftentimes be working on the tools with her husband as she is also a Journeyman plumber and gasfitter and has had a construction company since 2003. Sarah enjoys hiking uo GIants Head whenever she can, loves to get out on her paddleboard and will take in an occasional run every now and then.
After raising her 2 amazing children and becoming an empty nester, Lisa made the trip west to live in her favorite vacation spot. She now calls Penticton her home and Summerland Physiotherapy & Sports Care her next career. Lisa enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, all kinds of music, and admiring this beautiful area she lives in.
After spending many years in Alberta and the lower mainland of BC, as a bookkeeper and office administrator, Marjorie just recently relocated to Summerland and is enjoying the small town atmosphere and the friendliness of the residents. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and taking long walks on the many trails and taking advantage of the closeness of the lake and local wineries. She looks forward to many years of peace and happiness in the area.
Anita is originally from Calgary and moved to British Columbia in 1981. Summerland has been her home since 2008. She has held several senior administrative positions and retired in June of 2019 after 12 years as a support staff member with the Penticton RCMP detachment. Anita and Larry enjoy camping in their 1987 Chevy motorhome and they regularly bring both dogs and cat on their adventures.
